About us

We are Sophie Bonarius and Jisse Kranen. In 2022, together with our three children, we moved to New Zealand with the intention of living and working there for eighteen months. Four years later, we are still based in New Zealand! From our own experience, we know how valuable a move abroad can be and the impact it can have – both professionally and personally.

Thorough preparation, personal guidance, and a healthy dose of courage are essential in this process.

We combine our backgrounds in general practice and the public sector. Sophie has been a general practitioner since 2013 and worked in the Netherlands in various GP practices as a locum. Jisse has been working since 2010 at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, where he gained broad experience in international cooperation, connecting policy and practice, and coordinating networks and teams.

Together, we support Dutch general practitioners who want to live and work in New Zealand, either temporarily or long term. With our combined expertise, enthusiasm, strong networks, and local knowledge – and through one-on-one guidance – we help GPs and practices take this step with confidence.
